Camp Lightbulb Pride

Pride might be in June, but we help campers celebrate themselves and be proud every day. We love the parades and festivities that happen during Pride month. That is why we carry that spirit into our camps. Camp Lightbulb is a place of fun and inspiration centered in vibrant LGBTQ+ communities.

Every summer, we meet over 100 proud campers. They’re proud to be in a safe and welcoming space amongst their peers where they can let their guard down and enjoy the magic of Camp Lightbulb. That in itself is the magic of Camp Lightbulb. LGBTQ+ youth are faced with many challenges, such as struggling with gaining acceptance in their home communities and finding adequate support, but at Camp Lightbulb, those challenges disintegrate, and LGBTQ+ youth are celebrated. 

There is no greater sense of community than at Camp Lightbulb. We have the joy of witnessing our campers flourish as they step into their full, appreciated selves and join together to create a lifetime of magical memories. In these moments where our campers are simply having fun and being themselves, we see their pride grow. By the end of camp, their pride illuminates the room, and it’s as beautiful as the colors of the rainbow that we proudly display in our logo. 

It is our mission to see these campers shine and for them to carry that light throughout their lives. As a nonprofit, we hold great pride in our work with LGBTQ+ youth. For us, Pride is 365 days a year.
