Best Places for a First LGBTQ+ Date
Happy Pride! In light of this beautiful month, we wanted to share some of the best places for LGBTQ+ youth to go on their first date in LA, NYC, and Provincetown. Wherever you find your honey, you HAVE to take them to these places:
Venice Pride Flag Lifeguard Tower - Venice Beach, CA
Get your food, drinks, and post up near this iconic tower in Venice, CA! It is the perfect place to have a picnic, play some beach sports, and get to know your date. We would call these vibes immaculate.
2. ONE Gallery - West Hollywood, CA
Explore the largest collection of LGBTQ+ materials in the world at this stunning museum located in West Hollywood, CA! Grab your date’s hand and walk through unique exhibitions filled with pride.
Stonewall Inn & Christopher Park - West Village, NYC, NY
Immerse yourself in the birthplace of the Stonewall Riots and Queer Liberation Movement. This National Historic Landmark is right across the street from Christopher Park, perfect for taking your date on an afternoon stroll and visiting George Segal’s Gay Liberation sculptures!
IFC Center - West Village, NYC, NY
Catch a film at this Art House Movie Theater in Greenwich Village, NYC. You cannot miss their Queer|Art|Film monthly program, featuring queer films and LGBTQ+ guest curators.
Commercial Street - Provincetown, MA
Immerse yourself in the longest-standing queer community in the country! We describe Provincetown as Queer Haven, and for good reason. Commercial Street is loaded with food, fun, and entertainment for everyone.
Your Local Farmer’s Market & Picnic at the Park
Of course, we had to include the queer staple date at the farmer’s market! Grab your date’s hand and stroll through the closest farmer’s market near you for some fresh food and juice to bring to your picnic. Don’t forget to grab some flowers on the way out!
Best of luck with your first date, and we hope you have a great time. Do not forget that we will have a national LGBTQ+ Sexual Health & Education Workshop for queer youth on June 27. See you there!
