We are excited to return to New York City. On this page, you will find all the details to get ready for a weekend to remember. Keep checking back for updates.

Accommodation

Our home away from home is the HI Hostel on the Upper West Side. The address is 891 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10025. More details here. We will stay in exclusive group dorms for our group. Bathrooms will be shared with other hostel guests. Rooming assignments are done randomly.

Dates & Times

Weekend Camp runs from Friday September 2 through Monday September 5. Check in is on Friday after 3PM and Check Out on Monday is at 11 AM.

Team

Our camp director is Andrew Wyant. Andrew (he/him) is a Special Ed teacher based in LA. This is his second year with Camp Lightbulb; Abbey Brunzell (she/her), first-time counselor, hails from Massachusetts, is a former Camp Lightbulb camper and a former New Yorker; Jesse Rodriguez (he/him) does double duty as our project manager and counselor and will be our roving photographer during camp.

Menu

The hostel will provide a hot breakfast buffet and bagged lunch. Dinner on Friday evening will be an Italian sit down dinner at bustling Carmine’s; Saturday night we will be picking up Pizza in the Village; and Sunday evening we will for awesome dim sum at Jing Fong.

Medication

Medication must be in original packaging and will be administered by our Camp Director or counselors.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones may be used during specific times only in the morning, during transit, and before bed-time.
